Part One – Max
“Good morning, Mr. Wellington.” Elanor brought me out of my haze. I had been staring at the computer in front of me, not paying attention to the time passing by. My assistant stood at the door holding a stack of folders that I knew I needed to complete by the end of the weekend, but had no care in the world to finish.
What my head and heart were focused on was the woman sitting a few doors down in her office. Alexa. I wanted to do something special for her, for us. When we got married six months ago, she didn’t want a honeymoon. She said that what we had wasn’t like what anyone else had. She said that every day for us was like a honeymoon, but I wanted to prove her wrong. I wanted to show her that some time away and just being us, with no work involved, could be worth it. What I had planned would be worth it.
